Develop your passion for music through private lessons and classes!
Greetings! My name is Cheryl Suwardi, and I teach instrumental music lessons and classes. I hold a California Music Teacher Credential with English Language Learner Authorization and an Illinois Professional Educator License in Music. I have 16 years of teaching experience and bachelors and masters degrees in music education. I can help you with your instrument rental and purchase needs through our affiliate program.
We are currently enrolling students for our Fall Family Music Class. This class is designed to introduce children, ages 0-4, to music and instruments along with their parents and siblings. This class will begin on Wednesday, October 5 at 6:00 p.m. We hope you can join us!
String, woodwind, brass, and percussion instrument rentals and purchases are available through our affiliate program. For more information, please click here, email me, or call me.
Private lessons, orchestra classes, and band classes may also be available upon request for violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, piano, guitar, percussion, mandolin, and Native American flute. Several of these instruments can be studied at young ages, including 4 months and up. If you do not know which instrument to choose, you can try the ones that interest you during an instrument demonstration lesson.
By choosing me as your music teacher, you will be able to learn technique, musicianship, music theory, composition, music history, and world music. You would have many opportunities to perform throughout the year at studio and community concerts. My students have performed locally and across the country in concerts and honor festivals. Your lessons curriculum is personalized to fit your needs, goals, and developmental level.
Teaching is my passion, and students benefit from our lessons and classes through enhanced musicianship as well as leadership, cooperation, independence, confidence, self-expression, and creativity. Music lessons can enable students to have higher self-esteem, better grades, and a brighter outlook on life.

A very special congratulations is sent to:
Our wonderful soloists and ensemble members who performed a great spring concert on June 5. Each student shared challenging music demonstrating what he or she accomplished this spring for our audience members. After the concert, spring awards were presented. We are all so proud of you!
Our toddler music class members who attended the San Diego Symphony's Kinder Koncert at the Museum of Making Music. They heard an outstanding performance by violin, viola, cello, and double bass members of the San Diego Symphony and then visited the museum. While in the museum, they saw, heard, and played instruments from throughout American music history.
Our Spring Composition composers who wrote monophonic, homophonic, and polyphonic compositions for strings, winds, percussion, and piano. These 31 students demonstrated outstanding creativity and knowledge of musical concepts. Many of them shared their compositions with our studio families on our April 12 concert. Great work!
Ria, 5th grade cello student, who successfully auditioned to perform in her school's advanced orchestra with the older students. Great work and Congratulations!
